எகிப்து - 04 - வேழி ஆப் த கிங்ஸ்

கைரோலயிருந்து லுக்ஸர்க்கு காற்றுவழியில போய் சேர்வதற்கு ஒரு மணி நேரமாகிவிட்டது. விமான நிலையத்திலிருந்து தாங்குமிடம் போகும் வழி முழுவதும் பச்சைபசையேலென எழில்மிகுக் காட்சிகள் எங்களை வரவேற்பதாகவே இருந்தது. இந்த காட்சிகள் அனைத்தும் எகிப்தைய நகரங்களை பற்றிய என்னுடைய அடிப்படை எண்ணங்களை மற்றியமைப்பதாகயிருந்தது. ஒருபுறம் கைரோ தூசியும், கூட்ட நெறிசலுமாக இருந்ததுயென்றால் லுக்ஸர் அதற்கு நேரெதிர்மறையாகவே இருந்தது. கைரொவொடு ஒப்பிடும் போது லுக்ஸர் சுத்தமான அமைதியான நகரம்தான். ஆனால் இங்க ஒரு மாநகரத்தையும் சாதரண நகரத்தையும் ஒரெ சமன்பாட்டில் வைத்து ஒப்பிடுவதை மறந்துவிட கூடாது.

லுக்ஸர்ல எங்க தாங்கும் விடுதிக்கு போகும் பொழுது காலை மணி 7:00, லண்டன்ல கிளம்பினதுலயிருந்து ஒரு விஷயம் சரியான நேரத்துல நடந்ததுன அது இதுவே முதல் முறை. லுக்ஸரை சுற்றுவதற்கு எங்க டிரைவர் 9:30 மணிக்கு தான் வருவார், நாங்க ஒரு குட்டி தூக்கம் போடுவதற்கு இரண்டு மணி நேரம் இலவசமா கிடைத்தது. இந்த இரண்டு மணி நேரத்தையும் சேர்த்தாகூட கடந்த இரண்டு நாட்களாக நாங்க தூங்கினது வெறும் ஐந்து மணி நேரம் தான். முதல் நாள் அனுபவத்துலையும், இதற்குமேல ஏமாற்றங்கல தவிர்ப்பதற்கும் நாங்க புத்திசாலிதனமா பண்ணுன ஒரே விஷயம் தானிய ஒரு கையிட எற்பாடு பண்ணுனதுதான்.

இரண்டாவது நாள் பயணத்த சரியா 9:30 மணிக்கு வேழி ஆப் த கிங்ஸ்ங்கற இடத்த நோக்கி ஆரம்பித்தோம். மற்ற எகிப்திய நகரங்கள் மாதிரி, லுக்ஸரோட பிறப்பிடமும் நையில் நதிக்கரையில தான் அமைந்துயிருந்தது. கிழக்குகரையில் தற்கால லுக்ஸர் நகரத்துக்கு மத்தியில் பண்டைய கால கனார்க் மற்றும் லுக்ஸர் கோயில்கள் அமைந்துயிருப்பதை பார்க்கலாம். மேற்குக் கரையில பண்டைய கால கல்லறைகளும், புராதான கோவில்களும் நிறைந்திருப்பதை பார்க்கலாம். பண்டைய கால எகிப்தியர்கள் நிகழ்கால வாழ்க்கைக்கு கிழக்குகரையையும், இறந்தபின் வாழ்வதற்கு மேற்குக் கரையையும் தேர்ந்தெடுத்திருப்பார்கள் போல. முற்கால மற்றும் தற்கால எகிப்திய கலாசரத்துக்கு லுக்ஸர் நகரமே ஒரு திறந்த அருங்காட்சியகம்னு சொல்லாம். இப்படியே ஒரு மணி நேர பயணத்துக்கு பிறகு வேழி ஆப் த கிங்ஸ்க்கு போய் சேர்ந்தோம்.

வேழி ஆப் த கிங்ஸ்க்கான நுழைவு சீட்டின் கட்டணம் 70 எகிப்திய பவுண்டு, இந்த சீட்டின் மூலமா இதுவரை கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்ட 64 டூம்களில் எதேனும் மூன்றை தான் பார்க்க முடியும். ஆனா இதுல முக்கிய விஷயம் என்னவென்றால் இருப்பதிலேயே பார்க்கவேண்டிய டூம்களான இரண்டாம் ரமஸஸ் மற்றும் நெப்பர்தரி டூம்கள் இப்பொழுது பொது மக்கள் பார்வைக்கு அனுமதியில்லையாம். அதுவுமில்லாமல் பெயர்பெற்ற டுட்டகாமன் டூம்க்கு உள்ள போய் பார்க்க வேண்டுமென்றால் அதற்கு தனியாக 70 எகிப்திய பவுண்டுக்கு நுழைவு சிட்டு வாங்கனுமாம். டுட்டகாமன் டூமுலயிருந்த பொக்கிஷங்கள் எல்லாம் இப்ப கைரோலயிருக்குற தேசிய அருங்காட்சியகத்துல தான் இருக்காம், அதனால நாங்க அங்க போகவில்லை. அங்க இருப்பதிலேயே ரமஸஸ் 1,4 மற்றும் 3 டூம்கள் தான் மிக சிறந்தவைகள்னு எங்க கையிடு நம்பவைத்தார். முதல்ல பார்த்த ரமஸஸ் 4 டூம் சிறியதாயிருந்தாலும் அங்கிருந்த எழில்மிகு வர்ணங்களும் அலங்கரிப்புகளும் கண்களை கவர்வதாகவேயிருந்தது. டுட்டகாமன் டூமுலயிருந்த பொக்கிஷங்கள் எல்லாம் இப்ப கைரோலயிருக்குற தேசிய அருங்காட்சியகத்துல தான் இருக்காம், அதனால நாங்க அங்க போகவில்லை. அங்க இருப்பதிலேயே ரமஸஸ் 1,4 மற்றும் 3 டூம்கள் தான் மிக சிறந்தவைகள்னு எங்க கையிடு நம்பவைத்தார். முதல்ல பார்த்த ரமஸஸ் 4 டூம் சிறியதாயிருந்தாலும் அங்கிருந்த எழில்மிகு வர்ணங்களும் அலங்கரிப்புகளும் கண்களை கவர்வதாகவேயிருந்தது. அடுத்து நாங்க பார்த்த முதலாம் ரமஸஸொட டூம் முழுமையாக முடிக்கப் படாமலிருந்ததை பார்த்தால், இந்த டூமை கட்டி முடிக்கும் முன்பே அவர் இறந்துவிட்டார் போல. அடுத்து முன்றாம் ரமஸஸொட டூம விட்டு வெளியே வரும் போது தெளிவாக ஒன்று சொல்லலாம், பார்த்ததிலேயே இந்த டூம் தான் மிக பெரியதுன்னு. இத்தோட நாங்க பார்த்த டூம்களின் எண்ணிக்கை முன்றாகிவிட்டது, அதனால வெளியே வந்து அடுத்து பார்க்க வேண்டிய ஹட்சட்புட் கோவிலை நோக்கி பயணத்தை தொடர்ந்தோம்.

Luxor - Valley of the Kings

It took around an hour flight journey from Cairo to Luxor. Green, rejuvenating scenes welcomed us as we travel from airport to our hotel and have reinstated my initial opinion about Egyptian cities. If Cairo is dusty, cramped and unpleasant ... Luxor is green, clean and likeable at least when squared with the latter. But here the equation is perfectly imperfect since the comparison is made between a metropolises and a modest city.

We have reached our hotel by 7:00 and this is the first thing that happened as per our plan since we left London. Our trip guide will pick us only by 9:30, hence we are blessed for a 2 hour sleep which sums up to 5 hours of sleep in the last two days. This time we had wisely booked a private Luxor day trip tour and a guide to avoid any further mess-ups in our trip.

We have started our Day two trip by 9:30 and we headed towards Valley of Kings first. Like the other Egyptians cities, Luxor also mapped itself on Nile's banks. on its east bank one could see the ancient ruins of Karnak and Luxor temples married with the present days modern Luxor city. On the other side we have the tombs, temples and other monuments. It seems that the ancient Egyptians had chosen east bank for their present life and the west bank for their after-life. One can call the whole luxor as an open exhibition of ancient and modern Egyptian culture. After an hour of travel we reached the Great Valley of the Kings.

We entered the Valley at the cost of 70 EGP per person with which we can see any three of the 64 discovered tombs there. But the tricky part is some of the most beautiful and must see tombs like Rameses II and that of Queen Nefertari's were closed for public display. Further entry for famous Tutankhamun tomb costs another 70 or 8o EGPs which we didn’t opt for, since most of the Tutankhamun's treasures exhibited in National museum at Cairo. Ours guide selected the best three for us and they were the tombs of Rameses 4, 1 and 3. First we went to the tomb of Rameses 4, though it was small, it had great vibrant colors and decorations all around. Then we moved to an unfinished tomb of Rameses 1 , seems he had died before he completes his tomb. When we came out of Rameses 3 's tomb, we can declare it as the biggest of all which we have visited.
