எகிப்து - 06 - கர்னார்க் மற்றும் லுக்ஸர் கோவில்கள்

தற்கால கட்டிடங்களோட பின்னப்படும், சாலையொர புழுதில மாசுப்பட்டு பொழிவிழந்தாலும், இன்றும் உலகத்திலேயே மிகப் பெரிய கோவில் வளாகமாக விளங்குவது இந்த கர்னார்க் தான். மேலோட்டமாக இந்த கர்னார்க் கோவில பார்த்துவிட்டு ஒருவர் இதை சாதாரண இடம் தான் சொன்னாலும் வியப்படைவதற்கில்லை. முன்னாடி பார்த்த கோவில்கள் மாதிரி இது முழுமையான கோவில் அல்ல, அதே மாதிரி இதன் அழகெல்லாம் இடிபாடுகளுக்கிடையில் மறைந்து கிடக்கிறது. இந்த கோவிலின் முழுமையையும், எல்லையில்லா அழகையும் உணர வேண்டுமென்றால், மூலையின் கற்பணை சிறகுகளில் உயரப் பறந்துதான் ரசிக்க முடியும்.

கர்னார்கின் நுழைவிலேயே வரிசையாய் அமர்ந்திருந்த மேஷ வாகன சிற்பங்கள் எங்களை வரவேற்று நின்றன. பிரம்மாண்ட முதல் மதிழுக்கு அடுத்து மிக பெரிய இரண்டாம் ரமஸஸ் சிலையிருக்கும் பொது மக்களுக்கான மண்டபத்தை அடைந்தோம். இந்த மண்டபத்துக்கு அடுத்து பரோக்களும் அர்ச்சகர்க்களும் மட்டும் தான் மேலே போக முடியுமாம், ஆனா இப்ப 50 எகிப்த்திய பவுண்டுக்கு டிக்கட் வாங்கினால் போதும் எங்க வேண்டுமென்றாலும் சுற்றி வலம் வரலாம். இரண்டாம் மதிழுக்கு அடுத்து இமலாய தூண்கள் வழியின் இரு புறங்களிலும் அணிவகுத்திருப்பதை பார்க்கலாம். இரண்டு மிக பெரிய ஒப்பிலிஸ்குகள் முன்றாம் மதிழுக்கு அடுத்து உயர்ந்து நிற்கின்றன. இதே மாதிரி ஒப்பிலிஸ்குகளை பாரிஸிலும் வாஸிங்டனிலும் பார்த்திருக்கலாம்.

கோவிலின் சுவர்களில் எல்லாம், அந்த காலத்து மன்னர்கள் எதிரிகளை கொன்று குவிக்கும் வீரதிர போர் காட்சிகள் தான் நிறைந்து விழிகின்றன. இப்படியே இந்த சுவர் ஓவியங்களை எல்லாம் ரசித்து நகர்ந்து கொண்டிருந்த பொழுது, என் கண்களை கவர்ந்தது ஒரு பிரம்மாண்ட திருவிழா காட்சிகள். சற்றே அந்த காட்சிகளை கற்பணையில் வரைந்து பார்த்தேன், இருண்ட இரவில் நிலவிற்கடியில், ஒளிரும் தீபந்தங்கள், கூச்சலிடும் மக்கள் கூட்டம், இசைக்கும் வாத்தியங்களுக்கெற்ப ஓதும் அர்ச்ச்கர்கள், கர்வத்தொடு விழாவை மகிழும் மன்னன்னு நினைத்து பார்க்கும் போதே சிலிர்க்க வைக்கிறது. இது போல எத்தனையோ விழாக்களின் நினைவுகளை இந்த கோவிலின் தூண்களும் சுவர்களும் இன்றும் அசை போட்டு கொண்டிருக்கிறது.

கர்னார்க் கோவிலிலும் ஒலியும் ஒளியும் நிகழ்ச்சி இருந்தது, ஆனால் அந்த நேரத்தை தான் லுக்ஸர் கோவிலுக்காக ஒதிக்கி வைத்திருந்தோம். கர்னார்க் கோவிலில் இருந்து சில கல் தொலைவில், நகரத்தின் மையத்திலேயே லுக்ஸர் கோலில் இடம் பெற்றிருந்தது. நாங்கள் கோவிலில் நுழையும் முன்பே ஒளி விளக்குகள் ஒளிர தொடங்கிவிட்டன, அதன் பொன் நிற ஒளித் துகழ்களின் வழியில் நிற்பவற்றை எல்லாம் மின்ன வைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தது. முழு நிலவின் ஒளியில், இந்த பயணத்தின் சிறந்த படங்களை எடுத்து கொண்டே சுற்றித் திரிந்தேன். கர்னார்க்கை போல லுக்ஸர் கோவில் பெரியதாக இல்லையென்றாலும், நிலவின் ஒளியில் மிக அழகாக தானிருந்தது.

இரண்டாவது நாள் முடிவில், வேழி அப் கிங்ஸ்ல தொடங்கி லுக்ஸர் கோவில் வரை எல்லாம் எதிர் பார்த்த மாதிரி நல்ல விதமாக முடிந்ததற்கு டூர் கைடுக்கு ஒரு நன்றிய சொல்லியே ஆகனும். எங்க முன்றாம் நாள் பயணம் சற்று முன்னதாகவே தொடங்கியது, 40 நிமிட விமான பயணதிற்கு நல்லிரவில் அஸ்வானில் தரையிரங்கினோம். அபு சிம்பலுக்கான பயணம் அதிகாலை 3 மணிக்கு தொடங்குவதால், அரிதான முன்று மணி நேர தூக்கத்தை தொடர்ந்தேன்.

Karnak and Luxor Temples

Interlaced with the present-days dwellings, discolored by the roadside pollution, Karnak still stands as the largest religious complex in the world. On hurry note, one can outline Karnak as a ordinary place of scattered ruins with its own history behind. Also, like the other temple which I have visited, it’s not a complete one and its beauty is implicit, well hidden in its unfilled voids. One has to unwind and loosen the imaginative part of their cerebrum in an effort to pursue it completeness and feel in its melody.

On its entrance there are repetitive sculptures of Ram which welcomed us when we entered Karnak. Majestic first pylon will reveal the colossal statues of same Ramases II and the courtyard for the commons. Only the priests and the pharoahs can pass through next pylon, but now anyone can roam around with the entry ticket of 50 egp. There were numerous gigantic pillars lined in both row and column wise either side of the way, next to the second plyon. Aside the third one, there were two monolithic obelisks standing tall similar to those in Washington and Paris.


Throughout the temple, its walls were filled with the decorative warfare scenes of their king slaughtering heard of enemies. On glancing through the wall inscriptions, one that caught my eyes was that of a grand festival scene. Though the time was 16:00, I imagined myself under the moon, glowing fire torches and its light dressing the gaps of packed mumbling crowd, necromantic chants of the priests in tune with the mystic music, god like posture of the phaorah offering his lavish ceremonial rituals to the Ultimatum; it should have been a splendid scene.


There was a "Light and sound show" in Karnak temples, but we spared those time for Luxor temple. Luxor temple placed itself just miles away from Karnak and well inside the city. When we entered the temple, the lights were already on, its golden photon started illuminating everything thing on their ways. With the hanging full moon around, I started reaping some the best shots of this travel. Luxor temple is not a big one compared to Karnak but it was the beautiful with the lights.

At the end of the second day, starting from valley of kings to Luxor temple things went as planned, thanks to our trip guide. Our Day 3 started a bit early as our 40 minutes flight landed us at midnight in Aswan. We gained another 3 hours of rare sleep, as our trip to Abu simbel starts at 03:00 in the early morning.
